In December of '09 we celebrated our 14th anniversary!

Come in early everyday during the week to get the latest low-down on the sporting scene.  If 'people-watching' is your thing, this is the place to be.  Read the paper, meet with friends and/or clients, or just plain chill out.  Come on in, sit down, and enjoy yourself.

We are enjoying meeting all of our friends who come down in the winter just to relax. We realize that everyone has their reasons for vacationing down here... and from those of us who live here year-round, we hope that we can make your experience here at The Bagel Factory as fun as possible. We know that it is usually COLD up North this time of year, and we look to make your visit as sunny and pleasant as possible.

To our Winter Residents who visit us this time of year....  we especially welcome your smiling faces.

These days we are busy supporting various Walks. Runs and other events.  Almost all of our support goes in the form of product donation. We also supply many of our local High Schools with bagels for their 'class activities' as well as 'sports projects'.   And for those of you who are curious as to the 'left-over' bagels at the days end, we have various after-school care, soup kitchens and ministries which pick up from us daily.

We have actively been donating bagels to various Churches + Food Pantries.  We work very closely with the Ft. Myers Track Club (FMTC) in supplying bagels for many of the charitable events throughout the area.  Our next two major events are the Edison Festival of Light 5k and the Hooters to Hooters Run.

Gift Cards?!  We have the latest and the neatest!  These are your re-loadable, credit card type gift cards which can be used at either location.  Think about it.....  great for students to insure that a healthy breakfast and lunch are always available!

The Bagel Factory of Cape Coral OPENED UP on Feb. 28th, 2008!!

Mark + Tara are excited to announce that brother David and his wife Norma have opened up their own Bagel Factory of Cape Coral.  David has retired from 24+ yrs. in the US Coast Guard.  Both David and Norma were stationed at Coast Guard Station Ft. Myers Beach back when The Bagel Factory opened in '95.  Their store is located in the Entrada Plaza, North on the Del Prado Extension.  It has the same hours, same great bagels, spreads and coffee.

Call them:  543-2075

Look for David at the following outdoor markets: Cape Coral Farmer's Market in Club Square on Saturday mornings; Sanibel Market on Sunday mornings (this place is a wild one, everything sells out quickly!); and the Shell Factory Farmer's Market on Tuesday mornings.  He offers bagels and the best coffee around!

Our employees remain:  THE BEST!  During the week we have Pat + Bev who open up in the morning.  Annie is there as always to keep the ball rolling!  Joan keeps us out of trouble as she commutes from Del Tura.   Ana has been with us for 2 years, and is as pleasant and hard working as can be!    Louis is our 'swing man' as he works with the bakers and out front.  He always has a smile on his face.  This guy has done many things, and he is a real asset!  Jackie rounds out the front section with her wonderful smile and 'can do' attitude!

Of course none of this could happen without Marcelo and those who bake with him.  Chris and Frank are there at 0300 to 'bake the bagels' with Marcelo 7 days/week.  We have the best bagels, and these fellows know it!  (Marcelo's lovely wife, Flory and their English Bulldog, Rocky have been with us the longest!  Chris, a certified Beach Bum and Pool Hustler can always been counted to bake on Monday + Tuesday.  Frank, Marcelo's best friend, just moved his family up from their massive farm in Costa Rica in order to introduce his sons to the American schools.  Frank bakes and makes dough with Marcelo Wednesday through Sunday.  Frank is an expert when it comes to NBA trivia!)

On the weekends, we have the best of the best when it comes to our younger help.  Elisabeth is amazing, a Cypress Lake HS student. George is a Senior at Mariner who also works with the Cape Coral Police Explorer program. George is the President of the Student Government Association at school!  Caitlyn is with us as she completes another year in college.  In keeping with the Family Business, you may encounter our daughter Lauren working on the weekends at the cash register.  Lauren is a Middle School Student at St. Andrew Catholic School, and is quite efficient at her job!  Her younger sister, Taylor, is set to follow her lead.  Together, we form an awesome TEAM.

We continue to have the best staff around!  What a pleasure to have all of these people on our TEAM!

Note:  Our oldest daughter, Captain Christine Lukasik is back in Afghanistan. She completed 5 tours over there.  Christine is assigned to Creech AFB, Nevada.

Let us all keep our US Servicemen and Women in our prayers.  They are the heroes of today.  They are all volunteers!

David and Mark completed their USA4corners motorcycle trip in August 2007.  We rode 10,231 miles in 13 days!  We checked in at Key West, Madawaska, ME, Blaine, WA and San Ysidro, CA!  Check out the site:  www.usa4corners.org

We are also participants in the Grub Cab delivery service.  Check out the Grub Cab's Web Site at: http://www.grubcab.com/
